Blanket flower

Blanket flower is a genus with 12 species. The species occur wild in North America, but a small number are cultivated here as garden plants. In Belgium, one species of blanket flower grows from June to August and seems to be able to sustain itself for a long time, especially in the dunes. Locally, it can overgrow mainly moss dunes. Because this plant is a herbaceous plant without a deep root system, it can easily be removed with little effort.
