Common rock-rose

Yellow rockrose grows in the dunes mainly in older, undisturbed, species-rich calcareous grasslands. It is very rare in Flanders, but with a bit of luck you may come across it on your walk along the Western coast. The lemon-yellow flowers turn with the sunshine. In rainy weather and at night, the flower stems curl so that the flowers become nodding.
