Early marsh orchid

The rare early marsh orchid grows on the coast in humid dune slacks and flowers there from the beginning of May until around the middle of summer, with fairly small, usually light pink, flesh-coloured flowers and unspotted leaves. Where the early marsh orchid grows, grass of parnassus and marsh helleborine often occur as well. Thanks to the very fine seeds that are dispersed by the wind, it is a good spreader and can easily establish itself in all kinds of sparsely vegetated areas.
