Grayling

The presence of sufficient fast-warming places, such as shifting dunes and sandy paths, is essential for the grayling. The caterpillars feed on grasses such as marram grass and fescue grasses. The butterflies have orange-brown wings and are well camouflaged when on the ground with their wings closed.
